THE CIRCULAR ECONOMY

CLOSED LOOP & CIRCULAR

WHAT IS A CIRCULAR ECONOMY

A closed-loop or circular economy is an economic model where no waste is generated.

WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A RECYCLING ECONOMY AND A CLOSED-LOOP ECONOMY?

In a linear economy, raw materials are used to make a product, and the product is thrown away after it is used. Any waste generated during production is also thrown away.

In a recycle economy, materials that are reuseable are reused. However, because the economy is not waste-conscious, the supply chain, production, and products tend to produce unrecyclable waste.

In a circular economy, waste and pollution are designed out of the production process, and products and materials are designed to be reusable. By being constantly waste-conscious, all waste is designed out of the process.

ALWAYS WASTE CONSCIOUS

SO HOW DO WE CREATE A CIRCULAR ECONOMY?

By being waste-conscious in our production, design, and post-consumer practices, we are able to ensure that Dapo bikinis do not produce waste.

PRODUCTION

We use recycled swimwear material to ensure that we are repurposing environmental waste. Our swimwear fabric is made of ocean and landfill waste, such as fishing nets and plastic water bottles.

DESIGN

We purposefully design waste out of our production process by creating zero waste designs. Our Zero Waste Collection are designed to use every fabric scrap produced in our production process—even the tiniest of scraps!

POST-CONSUMER

We designed the reDAPO program to ensure that our customer's bikinis never go to waste. Send us your old bikinis, and we'll recycle them!
